Help & FAQ

Quick answers. For the full walk-through see How it works.

Getting started

How does posting a job work?

Tap Post a job, tell us what you need, set a budget, and publish. Providers in your area get notified and start bidding. You pick the bid you like, fund escrow, and the provider gets paid when the job’s done.

What does it cost?

Posting a job is free. ServiceHub charges a 10% platform fee (GST-inclusive in Australia) on completed jobs, deducted from the payment to the provider. The seeker only pays the agreed job price.

Is there an app?

Not yet — but the site is installable. On iOS tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android tap the menu → Install app. You’ll get a standalone icon that opens straight in.

Bidding & pricing

How do I send a counter-offer?

Open the conversation with the seeker on a job you’ve already bid on and tap the counter-offer button (the $ icon) next to the attachment button. Enter your new price; the seeker can accept it with one tap and the job is awarded to you at that price.

What does Instant book mean on a job?

The seeker has pre-authorised auto-award. Place a bid at or under their budget cap and the job is awarded to you on the spot — no waiting for them to compare bids.

Can I invite a specific provider to my job?

Yes. Open the provider’s public profile and tap Invite to a job. They’ll see your invite in /account/invites and can accept or decline.

Trust & safety

How are providers verified?

Email + phone verification on signup. Providers can also submit government ID and licence evidence for review. Verified accounts get a badge on their profile and a higher trust score in the feed.

What happens if there's a dispute?

Funds stay in escrow until the seeker releases them. If something goes wrong, open the contract and raise a dispute — attach photos, conversation context, and your reasoning. Our team mediates before any funds move.

Why are my contact details flagged in chat?

We nudge against sharing email or phone numbers because deals taken off-platform lose escrow, reviews, and dispute support. The platform fee is what pays for those protections.
